The annual Genesis 2025 conference by One Nucleus on Tuesday 3rd of December brought the Life Sciences community together once again, this time under the theme of “๐๐ข๐น๐ช๐ฎ๐ช๐ด๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฆ๐ต๐ถ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ด ๐ฐ๐ฏ ๐๐ช๐ง๐ฆ ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ ๐๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ท๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ”.
Dr Nat Hastings delivered a concise presentation on the latest developments at Cellestial Health alongside an array of brilliant companies including LYEONS Neurotech, GutSee Health, and ikarovec, and Martyn Postle actively participated in the networking sessions.

The field is under a known pressure. In the current environment, investors and larger pharma partners want to see ๐ฅ๐ฆ-๐ณ๐ช๐ด๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ฅ assets. This usually means ๐ค๐ญ๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ข๐ญ-๐ด๐ต๐ข๐จ๐ฆ or ๐๐๐-๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐บ therapeutics.
What does this mean for a preclinical lead asset of Cellestial Health? We cannot bypass the preclinical development stages, and we will not look for ways that cut corners or compromise the scientific integrity of the program. We are looking for partners who are aligned with our vision, that de-risking is not only about supporting late-stage assets. It is also:
โฆ A strong operational team, ready to deliver
โฆ Human-relevant targets validated in appropriate ways, and not ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ญ๐บ genetic ones
โฆ Patient-centric approach to the target-product profile development
โฆ Biomarker strategy
โฆ Clear execution plan, with ๐ข๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ช๐ข๐ต๐ฆ methodologies selected
And importantly,
โฆ Exploration of ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ธ mechanisms of action
If only a select number of translational late-stage hypotheses attract funding, that is also an ๐ข๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ risk to the whole field, should these not generate expected returns. We need a diversification of thought to ensure that new ideas are nourished in development pipelines.
Have you heard of a new concept lately that you think will inspire paradigm shifts in the coming years?
