Best Industry and Not for Profit Collaboration: Finalists

The annual One Nucleus Awards dinner celebrates the excellence of the diverse Life Sciences sector, recognising all parts of the community. One Nucleus believe that it is the interactions and dynamics of the entire ecosystem that lead to successful value and impact creation, the vision that resonates with our team’s.

This year, the collaboration between Cellestial Health and the University of Manchester has been recognised as one of the leading Industry and Not for Profit Collaborations of the Year.
The project focusses on combining the know-how around astrocytic pathology and Parkinson’s of Cellestial and the biomarker mapping techniques supported by the Manchester academics Richard Unwin, Nicholas Scott, and Roy Ng. This collaboration stated with the initial support from the Wellcome Trust grant, which further attracted Parkinson’s UK funding.

The goal of the collaboration is to establish when astrocytic changes develop in Parkinson’s and how we can measure this in the least invasive manner. Understanding this can help clinical trial planning and ultimately even earlier, biology-driven diagnosis for a condition that is still diagnosed mainly based on subjective symptom assessments, and often too late.

See you in London on 19th of March.
